STOP BILL C-11 - SHARE THIS POST FAR AND WIDE
Bill C-11 is the CENSORSHIP BILL. It is an update of the Broadcasting Act, officially called the Online Streaming Act. Bill C-10 failed to pass in 2021, but it was re-tabled as Bill C-11 in February 2022. Bill C-11 passed third reading in the House of Commons on June 21, and it is currently in second reading debate in the Senate, with a final vote expected in November. NOW is the TIME to STOP BILL C-11. PHONE CALLS AND MAILED LETTERS ARE EXTREMELY EFFECTIVE. A do-able number of phone calls can shut down an office. Emails are too easily deleted, so they are much less effective.
Under Bill C-11, all on-line content will be subject to censorship by the Canadian Radio and Television Commission (the CRTC), and this unelected government office will then control free speech, including on social media. Bill C-11 allows the CRTC to require registration, demand information, conduct audits, and invoke monetary penalties to enforce compliance.
